First permanent Holocaust exhibition opens in Slovakia

Bratislava, September 9, 2005 (ChatamSofer.com) - The first permanent exhibition to commemorate the estimated 70,000 Slovak Jews who were killed in the Holocaust opened in Nitra, some 90 kilometres from the capital Bratislava.
The exhibition is located inside a former synagogue and was put together by the Museum of Jewish Culture, a part of the Slovak National Museum.
The Museum of Jewish Culture in Bratislava also maintains a permanent exhibition of Jewish life in Slovakia at its Bratislava headquarters on Zidovska street.
